One Saturday in December continued a tradition so strong in hundreds of south Louisiana families that the celebration surrounding the first day of "dog" season rivals the Fourth of July and Mardi Gras. "It started with my grandpa, Louis, and it's remained strong for lots of us," Jeff Dinino said days before their pack of deer dogs were turned loose in the swamps in St. James Parish.

The main reason the survival movement has further adopted the moniker “prepper” is to promote the whole idea of planning in advance for any SHTF that might happen. Now, to be clear, some survivalists are not preppers and some preppers are not survivalists. It is the perfect storm for semantics. My daughter would reply the ubiquitous “whatever.”

Enjoy this very nice review of the new Sig Sauer P320 striker fired pistol from our friends at Handguns Magazine. The announcement of the SIG Sauer P320, ironically was what made me realize that—in an era where everybody is jumping on the striker-fired bandwagon—the company didn’t have a striker-fired pistol. The SIG Sauer P320 might look a little familiar. That’s because the new gun is basically a striker-fired version of SIG’s P250, a modular-framed double action/single action introduced several years ago.
