Gun Buyers ClubThree defendants in a succulent plant poaching case out of Humboldt County have each pled guilty to two felonies and other misdemeanor charges, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) and Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office announced. Felony convictions included conspiracy and false filings with the government, and misdemeanor convictions included removal of plant material from public lands and commercial sales of plants removed from public lands.

Gun Buyers ClubOne man was rescued and another drowned Monday after the kayak they had taken out into the winds and waves of Lake Michigan overturned in rough seas off the Schoolcraft County mainland.

At about 3:30 p.m. Monday, regional dispatchers received a call from a man who said his son and a friend had taken a kayak out into Lake Michigan off South Barques Point Trail, which is located south of Manistique.

Kalispell, MT — The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks are seeking information on the shooting death of a sub-adult male grizzly bear found dead on Forest Road 4859 in the Kootenai Forest, north of Libby in Northwest Montana.

Officials retrieved the carcass on Sunday, May 28. Investigators believe the grizzly bear was killed along the road on the evening of Sunday, May 20.

MAGNOLIA – Acting on a tip made to DNREC’s Environmental Complaint hotline, Natural Resources Police Environmental Crimes Unit arrested two Kent County men May 11 and charged both of them with illegal dumping in Magnolia.
