Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Enforcement agents cited 12 people for alleged turkey hunting violations during the opening weekend of the 2020 turkey hunting season. Turkey season opened on April 4 in all three turkey hunting areas.

On April 4 agents cited:

Jude Cambre, 46, of Denham Springs, for hunting turkey over a baited area in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Joseph Gauthreaux, 52, of Baton Rouge, for hunting turkey over a baited area in East Baton Rouge Parish.
William T. Fouquier, 34, of New Iberia, for hunting with an unplugged gun in Rapides Parish.
Noah Shapkoff, 20, of Leesville, for failing to tag a harvested turkey in Vernon Parish.
Alexis Burton, 18, of Anacoco, for failing to tag a harvested turkey in Vernon Parish.
Jaratt Palmer, 34, of Mansfield, for hunting turkey over a baited area in Desoto Parish
Donald Lee, 44, of Jamestown, for hunting turkey over a baited area in Desoto Parish.
James Ezell, 54, of Downsville, for hunting turkey over a baited area in Caldwell Parish.
Kimberly V. Taylor, 45, of West Monroe, for hunting turkey over a baited area in Caldwell Parish.
Randal R. Taylor, 61, of West Monroe, for not possessing basic and big game hunting licenses, wild turkey license or turkey tags in Caldwell Parish.

On April 5 agents cited:

Charles Metcalf, 62, of Monterey, for hunting turkeys during a closed season for taking two turkeys during the youth turkey hunt weekend on March 28-29, hunting turkeys over a baited area and taking over the daily limit of turkeys.

Kenneth Allen, 56, of Archibald, for hunting turkey over a baited area in Claiborne Parish
