Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited two men for alleged shrimping violations on March 2 in Terrebonne Parish.

Agents cited Ronnie Williams, 51, and Daniel Pellegrin, 47, both from Galliano, for trawling for shrimp during a closed season.

Agents were on patrol in Terrebonne Parish on the night of March 2 when they observed a vessel actively trawling for shrimp in a closed area. Agents boarded the vessel and made contact with the captain of the vessel, Williams, and his deckhand, Pellegrin.

Agents seized the two shrimp trawls and 3,000 pounds of shrimp.

Trawling for shrimp during a closed season brings a $400 to $950 fine and up to 120 days in jail.
