The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife & Parks has closed the Rosebud Isle Fishing Access Site in Stillwater County until further notice. Ice gorging and ice jams on West Rosebud Creek have caused water to channel through the entire site, which is then freezing, and causing dangerous conditions.

The combination of dangerous conditions includes flooded areas throughout the site, freezing and rendering unsafe condition for pedestrian and vehicle travel. Persons recreating at the fishing access site would be at risk of unsafe roadways, injury, or drowning.

The closure will be in effect until conditions are safe. At that point signage closing the site will be removed.
