The fishing piers and water control structure near the northeast corner of Wonder Lake on Pointe-aux-Chenes Wildlife Management Area (WMA) will be closed Monday (Jan. 24) due to construction work on the structure, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced.

The piers and water control structure are located at the following GPS coordinate, 29°26’16.77” North, 90°30’14.35” West. The closure will continue through April and may be extended if construction delays occur on the project.

Pointe-aux-Chenes WMA is located in Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes about 15 miles southeast of Houma off Louisiana Highway 665.
