The wait for fall hunting is over! Here are some of your first opportunities to get into the field.

Next week, multiple seasons will open on Sept. 1, including archery deer, archery elk, dove and grouse.

And in a few more days, there’ll be more species to pursue, with fall turkey opening Sept. 15 and teal season Sept. 5.

Make sure you buy a permit online ahead of time, and check out the Public Access Atlas to find the perfect hunting spot! Information about season dates, bag limits, identification tips and much more can be found in our hunting guides.

And if you’re ready for a little good-natured challenge, set your sights on the Duck Slam or Upland Slam this year. These popular programs offer a chance at prizes — and some pretty sweet bragging rights — if you can complete them.
