Last week's elections in New York sets stage for sweeping change in laws regulating firearms and ammunition

One of the few truths in life that you can always count on and believe is that elections have consequences. Furthermore, when one "party" acquires total control of any government, it can literally do anything it might want to the electorate (the people it controls) without fear of any veto.

They hold all the aces, all of the authority that has been vested in them by a majority of that electorate, and the total wishes and desires of everyone else simply does not matter a whit to them.

That is a fact that is now facing every lawful gun owner in New York. The Democrats have won it all - all of the power, all of the authority, all of the marbles. They now are in complete control of the Assembly, the Senate and the governor’s office. And under this state’s constitution they can do just about anything they might dream up to saddle every New Yorker with. Anything!

What does that mean for any of us who happen to own firearms? Unfortunately, a lot more then we might have considered. Here is just a short list to contemplate, as already announced by the democrats in Albany:

*Registration of all firearms (including all rifles and shotguns)

*Ammunition "licensing," which will probably include purchasing only of cartridges for which the buyer has a registered gun, limitations on the amount of ammunition allowed to be purchased within a certain period of time, etc.

*Required liability insurance for every registered firearm by every gun owner (something that currently is not even being offered in NY or anywhere else.)

*Prohibition on owning or possessing certain "assault weapons" (as the Democrats describe them), including
