Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – (Fairfax, Va.)—The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) today endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz for re-election to the U.S. Senate.

“Sen. Cruz is a champion of our Second Amendment freedoms and has always fought to protect the constitutional rights of law-abiding Americans,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman, NRA-PVF. “Ted Cruz’s support of our fundamental freedoms is unwavering, and the NRA is proud to endorse him.”

Cruz has strongly opposed the Pelosi/Schumer/Bloomberg gun control agenda, including legislation that would criminalize the private transfer of a firearm between lifelong friends and many family members. He voted to confirm Neil Gorsuch, a pro-Second Amendment justice, to the U.S. Supreme Court and opposes anti-gun judicial nominees.  In addition, Cruz supports national concealed carry reciprocity, which will ensure that law-abiding gun owners can carry concealed across state lines.

Cruz is being challenged by Beto O’Rourke, an “F” rated candidate who supports the Pelosi/Schumer gun control agenda. O’Rourke voted against national concealed carry reciprocity and supports criminalizing the private transfer of firearms. He also supports a ban on commonly owned rifles and ammunition.

“We can count on Ted Cruz to continue to stand up for our constitutional freedoms.  The NRA encourages all freedom-loving Texans to vote Ted Cruz for U.S. Senate in November,” concluded Cox.

The NRA Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is the National Rifle Association’s political action committee. NRA-PVF ranks political candidates — irrespective of party affiliation — based on voting records, public statements and their responses to an NRA-PVF questionnaire. NRA’s chief lobbyist and principal political strategist, Chris W. Cox serves as chairman of NRA-PVF, directing NRA’s electoral efforts at every level.
