Democrats have had a problem conforming their conduct to their canons.

Liberals claim to take the high road on environmental issues, and to that end the Democratic National Committee (DNC) announced in mid-June that it would no longer accept donations from fossil fuel companies.

"We talk about how climate change is real and climate change is a planetary emergency, what we need to do is stop taking money from the institutions that have created this crisis," said R.L. Miller, president of the super PAC Climate Hawks Vote Political Action and a co-author of the resolution, according to HuffPost[1].

The far-left Daily Kos[2] called the move "a real difference," one that separates the party of Jefferson and Jackson from "the RNC and the NRA [who] collude with Russians."

The resolution was "an effort to highlight its environmental platform," according to the Climate Change Dispatch[3].

"Today we can act — in harmony with the millions of Americans demanding that we clean up our planet and our politics,” gushed DNC Executive Committeewoman Christine Pelosi, daughter to House Minority leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., in a Medium post[4].

Then reality set in. Far above being self-described environmental stewards, the DNC is best known for being perpetually dead broke.

So they took it all back.

By a 30-2 vote, the DNC approved a resolution submitted by party chairman Tom Perez Friday to accept donations from big oil, so long as its "dirty" money was washed through a company political action committee, HuffPost later reported[5].
