Hardly a day goes past that I don’t receive several strings of memes in my incoming emails and yesterday there was one particular collection that gave me pause for thought. First, here’s the definition of a meme: “An Internet meme (/mi?m/ MEEM) is an activity, concept, catchphrase or piece of media which spreads, often as mimicry or for humorous purposes, from person to person via the Internet. An Internet meme may also take the form of an image (typically an image macro), hyperlink, video, website, or hashtag.”
Almost every meme I get is funny – every day there will be something about Donald Trump with a fixation on his hair, the liberals take a bashing as well. Hillary Clint has surely set a record for the most appearances and no one is immune. I’ve even got several of myself and, while I am darn-near insult proof, a couple have been so clever I still look at them and laugh.
On Monday there was a string of “pro-gun” memes that … if taken at face value … seem to make a lot of sense. Any one of them would cause my liberal buddies to have the vapors but with today’s national media so slanted to the left, I wish I could think of a way to put each of them on Chattanoogan.com so you could hear from the other side.
I figured the next-best thing would be if I transcribed each and described the picture when necessary. Each could be a cause for a delicious conversation and my liberal buddies need to know what the ‘opposites’ are passing around:

* -- Picture of a bad car crash: “Guys, if we could just find out what car model happens to be involved in the most DUI accidents, we could stop DUIs by banning it, right? I mean, that’s supposed to be how it will work with mass shootings and stuff. Right?”
* -- A picture of some ditzy girl and this below: “If you outlaw abortions, abortions will just happen illegally … but if you outlaw guns, we will be safe from all gun crime.”
* --“The National Rifle Association kills 0 (zero) people per day and receives 0 (zero) in taxpayers dollars. Planned Parenthood kills 887 babies per day … or one every 90 seconds … and receives $500 million taxpayer dollars each year. And liberals think the NRA is the evil one?”
* -- “In 1776, Marquis de Lafayette was 18 years old. James Monroe was 18 years old. Henry Lee III was 20. Nathan Hale was 21. Aaron Burr was 20. Alexander Hamilton was 21. Just a bunch of kids, right? What do they know?”
* -- “If you cannot see the irony in having a gun ban enforced by men with guns, then you fail to understand why the Second Amendment was written in the first place.”
