Rep. Jerry Nadler Announced Markup on H.R. 1808 for Wednesday, July 20th

Washington, D.C. – This morning, House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) announced a markup hearing for H.R. 1808, the Assault Weapons Ban of 2021, for Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Fourteen Republicans in the United States House of Representatives crossed party lines to vote with Democrats to pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act last month. Two Republicans, Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) and Rep. Chris Jacobs (R-NY) have expressed interest in supporting an “assault” weapons ban.

Last month, the Supreme Court issued a ruling in the case
