LDWF Accepting Applications for Wildlife Enforcement Cadet Positions

Gun Buyers ClubThe Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Law Enforcement Division will begin training up to 30 cadets in January of 2022 as it looks to increase the number of agents it deploys.

The cadets will train at the department’s training facility housed within the Waddill Outdoor Education Center in Baton Rouge. Successful completion of approximately six months of intensive physical and academic training is required to graduate.

Applications will be accepted through Aug. 22.

Agents Rescue Woman from Overturned Car in Creek in Union Parish

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents successfully rescued a woman after a traffic accident in Union Parish this afternoon, July 19.

LDWF Corporal Clint Branton and Senior Agent Hunter Breed were traveling westbound around 1 p.m. on Evergreen Road west of Farmerville when they encountered a Honda Civic in the eastbound lane. The car crossed over the road into the agents’ lane and then into a creek that runs alongside the road.

Buras Man Cited for Crabbing Violations in Plaquemines Parish

Gun Buyers ClubLouisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Enforcement Division agents cited a Buras man for alleged commercial crab trap violations in Plaquemines Parish on July 16.

Agents cited Doan Nguyen, 54, for theft of crab traps, unlawfully removing contents, violating crab trap marking requirements, taking or possessing immature female crabs, and taking 20 percent of undersized crabs.

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) enforcement agents arrested a Slidell man for his alleged role as the operator in a fatal boating incident that took place on March 6 in St. Tammany Parish.

Agents arrested Collin Alexander, 24, on July 6 for vehicular homicide, vehicular negligent injury, and operating a vessel while intoxicated.
