EL DORADO – Ditch the shore this summer and learn to sail with the Walnut Valley Sailing Club. The club, based at El Dorado Lake, will host youth and adult “Learn To Sail” clinics May through July. Depending on age and experience level, participants can sign up for classes such as the “Beginner Sailor” course open to youth as young as 8, all the way up to “Advanced Sailor” courses for adults with sailing experience.

The 2018 summer schedule is as follows:

Adult – Keelboat Instruction

Session One: May 18-21

Session Two: May 24-27

Classes will be held from 6 p.m. to sunset on Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m on Saturday and Sunday.

Beginner Sailor – Ages 8-12

June 4, 5, 7 and 8

Classes will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Beginning/Intermediate Sailor – Ages 12 and older

June 11, 12, 14, 15, 18, 19, 21 and 22

Classes will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Advanced Sailor – Open to youth and adults (pending instructor approval)

July 9-12

Classes will be held 4 p.m. to sunset.
