The Maryland Department of Natural Resources invites volunteers to get outside to help clean up along the Potomac River in St. Mary’s County, from 9 a.m. to noon April 14. Crews will meet at two different locations: Newtowne Neck State Park and Point Lookout State Park.

Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes, a long-sleeved shirt and long pants.

Point Lookout will have a sign-in table at the pavilion at the swim beach and Newtowne Neck will have a sign-in table at the horseshoe-shaped parking lot, on the right-hand side past the old barns. No entrance fees will be charged.
