Just in time for spring, catchable-size rainbow trout are being stocked in city ponds and lakes across Nebraska. Make the most of this beautiful weather and get outside for some fishing.

Take the family, too. Trout fishing is great for kids and new anglers, as only simple baits and equipment are needed.

March 14 – Lake Halleck, Papillion; Steinhart Park East Pond, Nebraska City; Weeping Water Pond; CenturyLink Lake, Eugene T. Mahoney State Park (SP), Ashland

March 15 – Fremont No. 2, Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area (SRA); Grand Island Such’s Lake; Heartwell Park Lake, Hastings

March 16 – Humboldt City Park Lake; Auburn Rotary Club Lake; Stanton Lake, Falls City; Pawnee City Pond; Fort Kearny No. 6, Fort Kearny SRA; Holdrege City Lake; Windmill No. 2, Windmill SRA, Gibbon; Auble Pond, Ord; Ponca SP Pond

March 17 – Gracie Creek Pond, Calamus Reservoir

In addition, stocking trucks are scheduled to release trout at the following locations and times. The scheduled times are tentative.
